Okay, fine.. Mainly my mom and a [little bit] of me have been planning a SURPRISE PARTY for my grandparents 50th anniversary. (Another reason I was gone most of May, because I was busy planning, prepping and making a totally radical slideshow for their wedding celebration.)
Let's just say, surprise of the century would be an understatement. I have never seen so much joy and happiness in my grandparents eyes... Well, besides the day I was born, or so I hear. But im trying to keep this post modest, honestly you guys. [and for those who don't know me, I seriously dont think this about myself - I promise.]
During the party I was deemed the gal everyone was going to send their photos to. Once this happens, I am going to combine all pictures and send them out to everyone. I can't wait to see the awesome shots people got of my grandparents surprise and just capturing the fun we had allll night long. (:
This was the big surprise. It's a bit blurry, I blame the camera. Never the photographer. Lol. But, at least you can see the surprise reaction in my NaNa.
There ended up being about 45 people at the party. Some of my grand parents friends from the neighborhood, some of my moms friends from by where they live, a lot of family including NaNa and PaPa's siblings. Family came all the way from New Hampshire, South Carolina, Canada.. it was great!
It surely was a great success and my mom did a amazing job.
Then there is Marty. There are no words to describe Marty.
Marty is HILARIOUS, witty and down right fun!
There is a funny story from back when I was a little girl.
My mom took me to New Hampshire with her to visit Diane and Marty.
I fell in love with Marty.
Who wouldn't?
He pushed me around in my stroller, tended to my toddler ways and was probably freaking hilarious to me - even then.
The joke over the entire weekend was that when I left that Monday, I was going to have to go to the window and cry and scream for "MMMMAAAWWWWTTTIIIEEEE" as I was drug onto the plane, like I did when I was 2.
It was just as sad to leave this character this time as it was back then.
It was truly wonderful to spend quality time with our family and extended family. I love them and miss them all dearly, near or far.
Thanks for such a great time, Mom! You are amazing!
PaPa with his sisters - Aunt Bonnie and Aunt Linda
PaPa "wearing" my head band. He said, "you paid money for this? I could have given you my eye patch... for free!" Silly, PaPa. He obviously needs a lesson in fashion!
More pictures... one day...
